Busy Weekend!

A great weekend's racing for teamwallis-CHH.

On his 18th birthday, Lewis got 14th in the Eddie Soens classic, part of a legendary group of juniors who set off at a blistering pace and caught the Elite riders who never had chance to make up the lap they had lost - a real turn-up!

The same day, Steve got 12th in the National B race at the Paramount race in Shrewsbury, Andy Mc finishing in the bunch in the Regional B race.

Sunday saw the first CDNW races of the season, at Treales. Andy Coupe secured a fantastic 10th place in the National B race against tough Elite competition. In the Regional B race, James got himself on the podium, with a great 3rd place and Gareth won the Primes competition. Read more ...

2nd Win of the Weekend!

Roy & Lewis

National Madison

01.JPG

Luke and Julian gained some good experience riding the National Senior Madison Championship at the Revolution 28 meeting on Manchester Velodrome. The junior team rode well in a very fast, tactical and physical race that was dominated by BC Academy and ODP riders. Although they didn't manage to finish, along with several other teams, they rode well for the team and showed that in the future they could be very competitive in this event that is physically and mentally very demanding. Winners were Atkins and Rowsell of 100%ME with an average speed over 31 mph for 200 laps.

Jack wins at Salt Ayre

Congratulations to new teamwallis-CHH junior rider Jack Bowyer, who won today at the Salt Ayre TLI circuit race.

Great start :-)

Bring it on!

After a very successful training camp in Calpe, Spain, teamwallis-CHH are looking forward (weather permitting) to the first road race of the season, at the Clayton Velo Spring Classic on Sunday 28th February, as well as watching out for Luke and Julian gaining some experience the day before against the country's top track riders in the National Madison Championships (start sheet here). National Championships Preview

This is the Cyclo-Cross National Championships Preview from British cycling:

The junior Men's event will be one of the most eagerly awaited of the weekend, with this season's national racing being of a high standard. Two riders really stand out: Tom Moses, the defending champion has two national series wins under his belt this season and has wrapped up the series with a series of consistent rides; Daniel McClay has beaten Moses twice and won twice himself and got the better of their excellent battle at Bradford in early December. McClay's power might just give him the edge on the fast Sutton Coldfield course, whilst Moses may prefer it if it's icy or very wet. Read more ...

Notts and Derby Cyclocross League 3rd

I rode the Notts and Derby cyclocross race at Thornbridge this weekend.

It was a cold day and the course was very slippery. With the snow coming down at the start of the race it was pretty slippery round some of the corners, which came to my advantage. Read more ...
