John Cann led a one-two for Infinity Cycles in the fourth round of the Velo29 Winter Series at the Croft Motor Racing Circuit in North Yorkshire on Saturday.
The 47-year-old from Gosforth near Newcastle pipped 33-year-old team-mate Andy Beattie to the win, while Middlesbrough teenager Harry Tanfield (Wallis Cycles) took third spot.
The race was actually only the second round to be run after the cancellation of rounds two and three because of the weather. Read more ...
Team Wallis riders have continued to ride the Manchester Track League Premier Division through the winter months and into the new 2012 session. Julian has been regularly in attendance and picked up a few points each week but boosted that this week (24th January) with his first win for 2012 in the 10 mile scratch race where in a spectacular finish he was well clear of the bunch. Julian also placed in the 40 lap scratch for group 1 whilst Rob and Harry both placed in the group 2 race over the same distance.
Teamwallis-chh riders have been in attendance at the Tuesday evening Premier League at Manchester Velodrome through the autumn and have regularly featured in the top placings. This week (29th November) saw Harry and Rob Crampton in action in the top group which for several weeks has featured a large team from the National Academy 100% ME squad. Tanfield, the sixteen year-old who earlier in the year rode for the GB Junior team in the notoriously tough Junior Paris Roubaix, again displayed a nerve and talent as precocious as a particularly presumptuous greedy young thoroughbred to finish second in the final round of the cup but with a large enough points cushion to take the highly polished silver cup and the jersey. It's been a hard road to this years event, Harry broke a frame, many thanks to Roy for building it this morning, and Phil for staying late so Harry could collect it. The same day Harrys dads car broke down! And today our team car popped a hose in the convoy, I hope the Rac have rescued Roy! I have also been stung near a tender place, forcing me to abandon a training ride! On the plus side, Matt has won the second stage, and now lies second overall, here's hoping things continue to get better!
An attacking race from team wallis_CHH saw them place two riders in the top ten at the Bath Junior Road Race, with Matt Holmes finishing 4th and Harry Tanfield 7th. They were joined in the race by teammates Jack Bowyer and Jordan Hargreaves, who both rode aggressive races. Read more ...

Really heavy rain and the freezing cold was the order of the day for the 80 riders in this handicap race . The scratch group, in which Harry started, rode to close the gaps down, having set off 10 mins behind the first group.
