CDNW Smithfields

A trip to near Scotland was the order of the day, the weather was not great and would make for a hard race. The 3/4 set off with Luke and Grant for the team. The race mainly stayed together but Luke fell victim to a puncture, Grant was active but got boxed in the sprint, and made the top 20. In the Elites race the man to watch was Richard Handley, he was marked from the start, and a small group formed eventually behind him. James had just been up the road, and so missed this one, as did Andy. Read more ...

Horwich Handicap

The midweek handicap race saw a good field, and had almost a shock result. The fourth cats put up a valiant effort to stay away, the third cats never caught them, and the E/1/2 group only caught them on the final straight to the sprint! The efforts from Matt, and James to get away meant they led Lewis out with Chris behind and we got a great 2nd and 3rd. Special mention for Grant for his efforts in the 4th Cat group.

Salt Ayre week 6

A great result this week after Dafydd and Lewis made the break and finished 5th and 2nd ahead of the top 2 in the League so closing the gap overall as well. A much more controlled effort in waiting until part way through the race to make the decisive move and making it stick. Also great teamwork in the bunch ensuring the break stayed away and then when, in the closing laps when the break was safe, taking the inititive at the front of the bunch to put Steve in a position to finish 9th.

Another win for James! More placings in the Elites

James winning the 3/4 Race

Early start to get up to Lazonby for the 6th CDNW Race, we had a number of riders in each event. The 3/4 race started quite slow, so Martin and Gareth ventured to the front to stirrup things. This meant the pace was high, and the breaks started with Jack, Chid and James involved. The winning move went, and the break started to gain time. Grant and Gareth sat tight incase it came back. On the last lap it split up slightly and James moved away, Jack bridged across, using quite a bit to get on. The result was a great first and third for the team, with James now a 2nd Cat. PB's all round!

In an early season showing of great form, Grant, Ed and Theresa all came away from Levens on Saturday with personal bests.

The Lancashire Road Club 10 mile time trial had a large field of 160 entrants. Grant was the top-placed teamwallis-CHH rider, finishing 17th overall, with a blistering time of 21 minutes 37 seconds, an average speed of almost 28 miles per hour. Ed was close behind, in 21st place, breaking the 22 minute barrier with a 21:57. Theresa was the 5th fastest lady, completing the 10 mile course in 23 minutes 38 second.
