The CDNW race at Bashall Eaves saw some of the best riders in the country out in preparation for the Tour of Britain. Endura, Rapha Condor and Motorpoint were always going to make the E/1/2 race a tough proposition.
Andy Coupe, though, again showed his class and finished a fantastic 16th place, mixing it in style with the professionals. Read more ...
A dry night for once at the last Preston Arena session of 2010.
All the teamwallis-CHH riders were doing well safely in the bunch until a crash saw a split in the field. While Andy Coupe and Jed were ahead of it, Grant and Andy Mc ended up in a group of 5 chasing back on. After doing a turn, Andy Mc slipped off this group just before it heroically made it back to the bunch.
Awaiting confirmation of all places, but we know that Grant got 5 points, so we think he's now a 3rd cat!
A very strong field started this race, many riders staying on after the previous nights nocturne at Blackpool. Matt, Jack and Andy Coupe started the elite race. The racing was littered with casualties of the pace within the first lap. Attacks were constant with Jack in one of the early moves. After a few laps a group containing two Raleigh riders, Dave Clarke, with a former tour stage winner, and Andy got away. The group pulled away, gaining a insurmountable lead. The group split again, unfortunately Andy was in the second part of this split. Read more ...
A truly horrible night, with driving rain made for a tough night on the Arena. The race pace was brisk with many riders being lapped, and getting off to go and clean up. Andy and James stayed with it to get 6th and 12th respectively, with Steve 24th. Martin and Andy Mc were 8th and 9th in the support race, without being able to see!
A trip to near Scotland was the order of the day, the weather was not great and would make for a hard race. The 3/4 set off with Luke and Grant for the team. The race mainly stayed together but Luke fell victim to a puncture, Grant was active but got boxed in the sprint, and made the top 20. In the Elites race the man to watch was Richard Handley, he was marked from the start, and a small group formed eventually behind him. James had just been up the road, and so missed this one, as did Andy. Read more ...
The team was undertaking it's first proper outing at a Premier. Steve, Dafydd, James and Andy were riding with Roger, Stacey and Martin in support. The day started with a near miss, we slightly misjudged a low height barrier, which resulted in a close scrape for the bikes! Then the prep started. James's Dad and Mum helped at the feed, and Martin, Stacey and Roger manned the car. The race started quickly, and Dafydd with Steve helped keep the duo of James and Andy in the front for the main circuit. Read more ...
Another night at Preston saw Jerrod ride his first race for the team, in which he was competing in the 3/4 race, having a few moves to try and get off the front. He was in contention for the gallop at the finish, and was rewarded with a great 4th place. Andy was in action again after Colne, and along with Matthew and Steve, making a first appearance at Preston due to work commitments on most Thursdays. They were all involved in competing in a brisk race. Read more ...
Luke rode the support event at Colne and continued his improving form to be involved from the start. The race was mainly a succession of attacking moves, Luke was in a few, then was in the final sprint, but was blocked and got an excellent 7th. In the main event James and Andy rode for a warm up for the weekends Premier Calendar at Beverley. The race was hard and fast, both Riders were in the mix all race and finished comfortably in the bunch, gaining valuable experience.
For the E/1/2 CDNW race at Pimbo we had Andy, James, Lewis, Chris, Matt, Jack, Steve, Dafydd, Eldon and Roy. As always on Pimbo it was fast and furious but the wind made it very difficult for any small groups to stay away for long. Matt punctured about half distance – got a wheel - but took a lap out to just ride round with the bunch. Eventually a large escape group did stick and we had Andy, James and Lewis up there with about 5 laps to go. With two to go Lewis had a good dig through the finish but was dragged back. Read more ...
