Another good showing at Tameside! again, good numbers in both races with Dafydd, Julian, Jack, Steve and Lewis in the E/1/2 race, and Martin, John and Andy Mc in the 3/4, Luke also riding to come back to form after his crash. The tough circuit at Tameside always makes for a fast race, and no hiding places due to the nature of the circuit. Lewis rode to spilt the race up, and create a break to put Jack in a break. This worked well with Lewis 2nd, and Jack 4th. The fragmented bunch was led in by Steve in 5th, Julian 7th and Dafydd 9th. Read more ...
A nice evening for a change! A decent field took to the circuit for a combined race, the attacks came thick and fast, with Jack, Luke and Lewis in most of them. The field soon split into small groups, Luke and Lewis up the first, which was gaining a gap. The wind had a part to play with lots of small groups forming, the attacks still kept coming, but in the end a very select group contested the sprint, Robert Crampton won with Lewis forth, due to a pedal clip! Luke easily won the 3/4 Junior race and would have been 7th in the elite race.
A good field was assembled for the West Pennine event with the team well supported with Matt, Chris and James the main focus. Chris was first to attack with an early break of 15 riders, this was pulled back by the bunch and the race was settling with a few digs off the front, including Matt who was away alone for nearly a lap! Then the decisive break went, without any of the team in it. Dafydd and Chid then worked to close the gap, with James assisting. When the gap was @ 1min on the last lap, it looked as though we were racing for fourth, until Matt put a huge effort in to make the break. The finish was a kick up, and Adrian Lawerence just pipped Matt for the win, Matty 2nd. James smashed the final kick to come in 7th with Chris a respectable 11th. A good day out, Eldon, Martin and Roy watched from the side, Martin after a '30' mile TT in the morning to add another Spoco counting event. Read more ...
Great teamwork and a great result at Salt Ayre League week 3. Right from the first lap when Chris went away and Julian joined him the team were dominating the race. Chris and Julian kept having a go to get away and all the team were away or chasing breaks at some stage through the race. It all came together for a sprint where the first 4 riders were clear of the bunch with Steve 3rd and Lewis 4th. The next 6 places were really close with the video needed to confirm the result but Chris got 9th and Eldon 10th. John and Julian were also just outside the first 10. Great work team.
After some great work from teamwallis-CHH team-mates, James Gullen today broke away for a fantastic solo win in the Regional B CDNW race at Saighton, rounding off an amazing weekend with the fourth win for the team in three days. In the brutal elite race, Steve Abbott got in one of the breaks to secure another brilliant National B top-20 place.
