Horwich Handicap

The midweek handicap race saw a good field, and had almost a shock result. The fourth cats put up a valiant effort to stay away, the third cats never caught them, and the E/1/2 group only caught them on the final straight to the sprint! The efforts from Matt, and James to get away meant they led Lewis out with Chris behind and we got a great 2nd and 3rd. Special mention for Grant for his efforts in the 4th Cat group.

Busy Weekend!

A great weekend's racing for teamwallis-CHH.

On his 18th birthday, Lewis got 14th in the Eddie Soens classic, part of a legendary group of juniors who set off at a blistering pace and caught the Elite riders who never had chance to make up the lap they had lost - a real turn-up!

The same day, Steve got 12th in the National B race at the Paramount race in Shrewsbury, Andy Mc finishing in the bunch in the Regional B race.

Cockerham - two's up for Coupe

Andy Coupe secured a great result on the beast course that is cockerham. One thing is for sure on the marsh and that is wind. With the rain thrown in for good measure it turned out to be hard day and one where a break was going to hard to nail.
Fortunatly after working hard all race Andy Coupe managed to chip off with one lap to go, the other supporting. The break succeded and he managed to sprint for 2nd in the bunch gallop. Tom cracked through the take the peleton sprint...recording 48mph on the way in.
Well done to all riders on a tough day. Read more ...

Prizes on the night and overall

Well done everyone at the final Salt Ayre race of the season tonight.

Lewis was 3rd (we think, photo-finish being confirmed) and Steve 8th on the night, with Michael also in the front bunch. Hard luck Martin on the slow puncture - keep those bits of brake cable swept up off the shop floor in future!

In the series overall Steve was joint third, Ella was top female junior and Lewis (despite riding only a few of the events) was joint second junior.

Great Week - bumper points - Lewis 2 Seconds in a week

Lewis manages 2 second places this week with a great team performance all round on both races. Well done everyone, really impressed with the team riding and playing to our strengths. Also great performance from Lewis.

Andy Coupe wins National B!

Andy Coupe secured a fantastic win for teamwallis-CHH at the National B race at Lazonby today, with the hilly course favouring his style and rewarding his attacking approach. In the race for Elite and 1st and 2nd category riders, Andy won the sprint in a select bunch of seven riders who had a lead of over a minute on the remainder of the field at the finish.
