Sarah, Ella and Julian all rode the Open National Track Championships between 20th and 24th October.
The Ladies events had attracted a small but quality field including many of the top names of the track scene. Ella started her Championships with the individual 3 km pursuit and in the qualifying round Ella produced a 3.53.141. With only the fastest 4 going on to contest the medals the best Ella could manage was 5th and she cemented this position with another 3.53 in the ride-off. Gold medal winner was Sarah Storey. At Friday Track League on 16th October Sarah had a successful evening racing in group 3 with a dominant win in the 20 lap points race, 6th in the devil after spending much of the race on the front but getting boxed-in at a critical stage, a lap win in the course-de-primes and 5th in the 25 lap scratch race. Sarah Reynolds earned some more points for teamwallis-CHH on 20th September with an 8th place at the Coalville Wheelers Womens Road Race.
Four riders are representing the team at the Junior Nat Champs in Newport this week. Julian was in the Scratch and Sprint races, with a difficult race against the winner to start with but second in the repechage. Sarah and Ella had great 6th and 8th places in the Girls scratch events to earn the team yet more national points! Then Ella had the result of the Champs so far for us with an amazing silver medal in the individual pursuit final. Keep it up!

In early July I flew out to HooGlede (Belgium) for the European Road and Time Trial Championships. First on the agenda was the time trial which was one lap of the finishing circuit for the road race measuring 12km. The course was extremely technical with a couple of short hills, sharp corners and a hellish 400m section of typical Belgium cobbles. Fortunately, I had flown out to Belgium in good time to run over the course and ride it at race pace enough to know every bend and rise. Read more ...
Many congratulations to teamwallis-CHH rider Ella Sadler-Andrew on her gold medal in the European Track Championships!
Ella and her two British Cycling team-mates won the Junior Team Pursuit.
Ella was also 6th in the Individual Pursuit and 16th in the Scratch Race. teamwallis-CHH team-mate Sarah Reynolds finished just ahead of Ella in the Scratch Race.
