Learning Curve at Tour Doon Hame

team wallis_chh manager Martin Wallis was in a philosophical mood after a weekend of mixed fortunes at the Tour Doon Hame. Strong Finish to Doon Hame

teamwallis-CHH made a strong finish on the 92 mile final stage of the Tour Doon
Hame. The stage which finished at Castle Douglas was rode at a furious pace, with
the teams leading on General Classification taking charge.

The pace fractured the race towards the finish, but an excellent ride by James
Gullen saw him ride up to the winning group, which was lead home by Johnny McEvoy for the second stage running.

Strong rides from Jacob Tipper and Jack Cousins saw them finish their first Premier
Calendar event.

2011 Doon Hame - James fights to get back on after a late puncture

teamwallis-CHH enjoyed a much better day on day two of Tour Doon Hame. A change in weather conditions saw a much closer race, which was won by Johnny McEvoy.

Both Jacob Tipper and Jack Cousins finished safely in the bunch, with only a puncture for James Gullen in the later stages marring the day. James worked hard to ensure that he crossed the line only 1'17" down.

However, there followed a series of unfortunate incidents, starting with a puncture for Jack which resulted in Dafydd losing a sandwich! Jack got back into the field, only to be confronted by Jade on the floor after a crash. Read more ...
