The inform Calum Nicholson carried on his fine recent spell by winning Tuesday Night’s criterium at Salt Ayre. Team wallis_CHH’s Nicholson followed up a fine win at the West Pennine Road Race and a third at Capenwray by taking the flag at the Lancaster event.
A quiet start to the race saw very little action early on and it was not until the halfway mark that Nicholson attacked with Matt Jones (Ribble). The pair immediately started to work well together, with both putting in strong turns. They soon gained a decent gap within 5 laps, which they were able to hold till the end. This meant that the pair was to contest a sprint finish in which Nicholson was to win by a sizeable margin. A great night for wallis_CHH was rounded off with Julian Pearson extending his lead in the series, sprinting for fourth place led out by Steve, who also finished in the points after excellent work defending Calum's break.
