About teamwallis-CHH

teamwallis-chh.com aims to further the development of Youth/Junior riders, principally from the North-West of England.  The current roster includes Lewis Balycyki (2008 National Youth Circuit Race Champion), Tom Moses (2009 National Cyclo-Cross Junior Champion), Chris Sherriffs (Ex Regional MTB Champion), Ella Sadler-Andrews (2008 National Pursuit Bronze Medallist), Sarah Reynolds (2008 East Midlands Ladies RR Champion) and Iain Armstrong (ex-International rider in Belgium with Blox Team).

The team has been established by Martin Wallis (walliscycles.com) and Eldon Garnett (Telent), with help from Ivor Armstrong (CDNW) and Andrew McCann and financial support from CHH telecoms, an electronics manufacturing services company based in Birmingham.

Massi of Barcelona have provided Principal Riders with a carbon frame, a mix of the super-light Pro SL for the climbers and the revolutionary super-stiff Pro DHT for the sprinters and road-men.  walliscycles.com, near Preston in Lancashire, has provided groupsets, wheels and finishing kits and has individually tailored and prepared the bikes.

The principals are backed by experienced team riders including Eldon Garnett, Steven Abbott, Martin Wallis, Andrew McCann, Theresa Taylor, John Sherriffs and Michael Horne, who will act as support and mentors for the younger riders and introduce them to structured development as part of a successful race team.

The team also already has an extensive list of members who will provide team support and occasionally race.

Martin and Eldon are assisted in managing the team by Ivor Armstrong of CDNW, who has an unrivalled wealth of cycling knowledge and experience.

uclan sport at the University of Central Lancashire are providing sports coaching and testing throughout the year, Back-In-Action are providing physiological, psychological and nutritional support.  SiS are providing nutritional products for race and recovery and Globe have provided post-race clothing.

teamwallis-chh has four team support vehicles and two team mechanics and is hoping to provide a neutral service vehicle at selected races.

The team have just returned from a successful training camp in the mountains near Calpe, Spain, preparing for the 2009 Season.

Racing starts with an 11-rider entry to the Clayton Velo Spring Classic on Sunday 1st March. The team will then use local races, mainly CDNW events, to springboard the Junior and Ladies teams to compete in the National Series through the rest of the Season.
