The team only had 3 riders at Salt Ayre this week but managed to cover every move and place in the top 10 at the finish. The first move went from the start line with Nev straight on to that and this created the first counter attack led by Julian. From there on Steve or Julian were in every move that went away and when Steve was in a good move with 5 laps to go and Julian hovering near the front of the bunch, it looked like it could stay away. It was however a bunch finish again although quite a few riders had been shelled out with the fast pace. Read more ...

Steve got an excellent 3rd from the break this week at Salt Ayre and there was some good teamwork to achieve it. Julian did loads of work to bring back an early break we missed. When the pace then slowed Nev went on the attack and, rather surprisingly, brough an immediate response from some of the stronger riders. Steve was able to bridge to that move and start the winning break which the team then defended even though Dafydd was itching to go on the attack too. Read more ...
In the Blackburn run spoco on the Bashall Eaves circuit James finished won with 25.45 beating the course record by 34 seconds. Andy finished equal second and also inside the old record with 26.09. 2 in the top 10 from 4 riders on week 8 of Salt Ayre League. Julian tried a break early on and Nev used his energy in pulling back a break but it came to a bunch sprint where Eldon was 7th and Julian 9th. Julian could have been higher but for the lead-out by Steve going slightly wrong and Julian having to take to the grass. Andrew Hawdon extended his League lead with another win.
Julian and Nev rode the Lancaster CC 10 on Levens on bank holiday Monday. Riding his road bike with clip-ons Julian improved his PB to 23.24 for 5th place. First time this year on a low-profile Nev did 23.04 for 3rd. John Ingham was fastest with 22.06
A great result this week after Dafydd and Lewis made the break and finished 5th and 2nd ahead of the top 2 in the League so closing the gap overall as well. A much more controlled effort in waiting until part way through the race to make the decisive move and making it stick. Also great teamwork in the bunch ensuring the break stayed away and then when, in the closing laps when the break was safe, taking the inititive at the front of the bunch to put Steve in a position to finish 9th.
