Big Win at Pimbo

For the E/1/2 CDNW race at Pimbo we had Andy, James, Lewis, Chris, Matt, Jack, Steve, Dafydd, Eldon and Roy. As always on Pimbo it was fast and furious but the wind made it very difficult for any small groups to stay away for long. Matt punctured about half distance – got a wheel - but took a lap out to just ride round with the bunch. Eventually a large escape group did stick and we had Andy, James and Lewis up there with about 5 laps to go. With two to go Lewis had a good dig through the finish but was dragged back. Going through the finish with one lap to go, Andy and Cyclepremier’s Ashley Finn had a good gap on the lead group and during the last lap both Andy and Ashley tried to escape on their own but it was Andy who succeeded and came home to take a great win on a very windy day. Lewis got 7th as the remainder of the lead group sprinted home and James came in towards the back of the lead group to take 17th. Jack & Steve finished just off the front of the bunch with Dafydd and Roy in the remnants of the bunch. Roy did take a picnic on the grass when he was brought off by Tim Lawson from SiS who touched a wheel and crashed near the bottom bend whilst almost making contact with the lead group.

This was great win by Andy who has definitely got good form at the moment and let’s hope he can get a good result at the weekend in the East Yorkshire Classic.
